Labelservice are pleased to offer a range of fully biodegradable and compostable labels.
The Bagasse sugar cane fibre material is a white, uncoated matt white paper. It is made from 95% sugar cane fibers and 5% hemp and linen and featured tree tree facestock. The material is a thick textured paper and is a superb option for decorative labels such as wine, beverages and food.
Natureflex is a film produced from wood pulp sourced from managed plantations, and is biodegradable and compostable. The material is certified to EN13432 and is specifically suited for applications where the complete packaging needs to biodegradable. Available in either white or clear, it has a good resistance to oils and grease and is suitable for direct or indirect contact with food.

All options feature the biodegradable S9500 adhesive. S9500 is a general purpose acrylic adhesive with good adhesion on a wide variety of substrates. It is has been specifically manufactured for applications where the complete packaging should be biodegradable, and where indirect or direct food contact with dry foodstuff is required (ie, fruit and vegetable labelling).
The adhesive is compliant with the European food regulation 1935/2004/EC for direct food contact, and also with DIN EN 13432 biodegradability and compostability regulation. Additionally it is OK compost-certified under the tracking number S259.
