A bullet is a special type of cut to the font and back, wherein a label can be applied to a product or package with an area of the backing paper still on. An area of the label face can then be removed at a later date and applied to something else. A very common use for these is parcel and courier labels, such as a recorded or special delivery. The main label goes onto the envelope, and the bullet cut section is removed afterwards and placed onto a separate form for tracking purposes. Another use may be for a product that is sold via retail, requiring the consumer to subsequently peel off a section of the label and send away, for example a promotion or a guarantee.
